I would like to buy some property of my own one day and have been looking into ways of getting a mortgage history.

Ideally I would prefer my first investment to be in Surrey. But property over here is so pricey that I doubt I'll ever get to buy somewhere here!

I have, however, found a property investment company based in Surrey. They offer an investment opportunity in Needham House in Stevenage, Hertfordshire which is a hotel. I was happily surprised to find out I could get a mortgage on one of these- they even have an exit strategy for a few years time!

Does anyone know the pros and cons of an investment like this? Or have any experience in hotel investment?

Also do you know of any opportunities like this in Surrey?

Are there any other good ideas for first time buyer? Please bear in mind, I do not want to buy abroad.
