Firework Display in Epsom


This year's event will be taking place on Saturday 5th November 2011. 7th Epsom (Methodist) Scout Group hosts the display with the help of local charities from the area from which donations out of the proceeds are made.
Epsom fireworks display has one of the biggest fireworks in the area with a huge range of effects and has been running since 1971.
The Display this year is the largest we have ever fired, with a budget of around £20,000. The planning for the fireworks started in 2008, with the initial designs being discussed, changed then discussed and changed again! The final design was agreed in August and then construction could begin. It takes thousands of man hours to put the display together - we have a team of 15 people working on the show at various times in the months leading up to the display and there are over 100 helpers on the day of the display.
The show this year consists of:
· Over 500 Aerial Shells, from 3” to 12” monsters
· Nearly 250 Roman Candles, firing 8 to 10 shots each
· Over 30 Professional-use cakes, with up to 300 effects per cake
· Lots of other special effects that will ensure a big but balanced display.
The Display is part fired electronically and part fired by hand. This gives us the best of both worlds with the flexibility given by hand firing and the extra safety and timing precision given by the electrics. Overall we will have a show that lasts between 20 and 25 minutes, that includes around 15,000 individual effects.
Gates open at 5.30pm and we hope for the display to begin at 7.30pm.
Gates close at 10.30pm on Saturday.
Tickets can be purchased in advance of the display (before the 4th November) from local ticket outlets listed below at only £5 per ticket!
Tickets are also available for purchase on the gate of the arena, on the evening of the display, when gates open at 5.30pm. Tickets are £7.50 on the evening of the display (cash only).
