Youth Community Centre - Posted By sparks85 (sparks85) on 10th Oct 11 at 7:17pm
Hello All,

Im planning on setting up a youth community centre within the Merstham/Redhill area and am looking for any advice or feedback on my idea.

The plan is to acquire a hall or a decent sized premises where teenagers could meet up and keep of the streets. Within the facility im hoping on having regular live music performed by the people that attend as well as art displayed from the local people. There will hopefully be the oppurtunity to do any homework or be assisted with it by volunteers there. Also there will hopefully be help with finding work and assistance with writing CVs.

The centre will not only be open to youths but also to adults as well, being a young adult i know what its like to have nowhere to go during the week, this will hopefully be an oppurtunity for people to engage in their community and meet new people.

Any advice would be great.

Many Thanks!

That sounds cool!

Maybe you get a charity to back you or help run the place.

Or check out other places like that and see how the run it like the y-pod in Woking.
