What are the main issues that need addressing in Surrey Heath?
People have become disillusioned and feel they have little or no influence over the way the country or their community is run. There's been a sense that MPs don't listen to the people they represent. That needs to change for the better.
Many of our local children from less well off families get a poor start in education. For some, the gap in achievement in evident as early as seven years old, and they never catch up. I want to make sure that children get the individual attention they need by cutting class sizes.
We live in a community where there is a general assumption that everyone is well off. I meet many people, both pensioners and those on lower incomes who feel they have been overlooked and ignored.
We need to bring back fairness into our community.
What are your key policies in regards to Surrey Heath?
Good education for ALL our children
Building the belief in people that they can change our community for the better
Promoting a greater care for our environment
Is this the first time you are standing for election?
I've stood for election and been elected as a local Borough and Parish councillor in Ash, where we live, which is part of the Surrey Heath constituency
I also stood for Parliament at the last General Election in the Chichester constituency
why have you decided to stand?
Ever since I was a teenager, I've felt that if There's something wrong with the world in which we live, I should try to do something about it.
In this election, I think the issue of the personal credibility and trustworthiness of candidates is going to be nor important than ever. So for me, I felt it was right to offer myself as a candidate for my local constituency, where I've lived for more than 30 years and where many people know me personally.
Age, marital status, if you have children and where you live
