Ranmore Common Walk - Posted By paulswalks (paulswalks) on 21st Jan 09 at 6:29pm

Don't do this walk in bad weather - i.e. fog. The final part is supposed to bring stunning views
across Dorking (a reward for all the walking!) but all I got was a misty view of my feet.
Anyway, the sound of crispy frozen leaves underfoot and the crunching of snow was reward enough.
To get to the start I got the 465 bus from Kingston to Dorking and alighted at Box Hill stop
(this bus also takes oyster cards!).

I followed direction which you can get from here:

Or view my Google Maps outline here...

Looking on a map 'Druids Grove' caught my imagination so had a little detour.
Its quite a steep decent and wasn't sure if I even found it!
There's plenty of peaceful walking and just enough encounters with other walkers.
I was quite pleased I got the end bit right as last time I walked here (from Guildford to Dorking)
i got lost around the Denbies Vineyard, added half-hour to the walk time and missed my train!

Happy Walking!
