I admit I did this walk last summer - and have only just recently done Leith Hill (on a cloudy day) BUT I thought the views from Martha's Church, Newlands Corner and Steer's Field could be the best in Surrey - but I still have a lot of walks to do, any suggestions?
You can find similar walks between BR stations (no need for private transport) here:

Nice pictures, I would also recommend joining the East Surrey Group if you enjoy the many benefits of walking![]()

Looks greatreminds me of when i was last on top of box hill. I'll have to go again soon when the weather gets a bit warmer.
I know this is completely off-topic but are you technically allowed to barbecue on box hill?
I think Box Hill is National Trust, and quoting their site:
"Fires and barbecues are generally not allowed. If you are planning a picnic at a National Trust property for the first time, please telephone the property in advance to check."

Box Hill is amazing, the only problem is I have never been there in the daytime so this is actually one of a few pictures I have seen and it always seems so lovely!

Hello again!
Just wanted to pass on a wow view from the top of Holmbury Hill - at http://gigapan.org/gigapans/73099/
Basically it is lots of shots added together to make a thingie that you can zoom in and out of, looking out over horsham etc.
Enjoy!
Hi,
It is really looking nice. I had never seen such type of scenery in surrey. I will vote for this cloudy picture.
East Surrey Group has to be my favorite. You can really enjoy everything about walking in this case..
This looks incredible. Is it dog friendly?
