| Two swim 22 miles for fundraising (12th May 14 at 12:18pm UTC) | | Today I heard about a very interesting story, of two teenagers who swam 22 miles for a school trip. On 27th April, two teenagers choose to swim 1,408 lengths of a pool at Donyngs Leisure Centre in Redhill.
Maria Lee and Sam Biggs swam 11 miles each. Hoping to raise around £750 by their swim, which was in aid of their total £7000 goal which will go towards a school trip to Costa Rica and Nicaragua to help less fortunate communities.
Both are planning to do more fundraising with a planned sponsored run and cycle ride.
I was glad to hear of a story like this, as it shows how youngsters can come out and perform to help those less fortunate. It gave me some ideas as to what I could do to become more active and maybe do some charity fundraising in the future. Watch this space | |
