Sutton town centre safer than ever
(Posted On: Fri 17th Jul 2009 at 14:37)
Thanks to initiatives by Sutton police officers supported by partners including Sutton Council and Businesses in the high street. Local people have been telling police about their concerns on disorder and anti-social behaviour. Action taken by police and others has led to crime falling in these and other categories in the town.

Police actions which have proved successful include:
- Closer ties with the retailers so that they can report all crime however minor it may be.

- Ensuring a quick response to incident calls.

- Dealing with incidents in a robust and effective manner with the overwhelming majority resulting in arrests.

But has it really made a big difference?
Have you ever been affected by anit-social behaviour? Do you support your local police officers? Share your opinion on crime and police presence in your area!
