Godalming Operatic Society will be sailing in to town in February with their 2009 production of Gilbert and Sullivan's H.M.S Pinafore. H.M.S Pinafore is one of the most popular G & S operas and is renowned for its infectious tunes and excellent libretto. High spirits are sure to be in evidence with this opera, regarded by many as Gilbert and Sullivan's first "blockbuster" hit when it was first performed in 1878. The large cast will, as always, be accompanied by a proffesional orchestra. With a mixture of love, intrique, gentle satire and great songs H.M.S Pinafore promises to be a real treat for the family. Musical direction is by Robin Wells and stage direction by Pat O'Connell.
