Christmas Lights Switch-on...with Abi Titmuss & Andrew Agnew
Gostrey Meadow will host the sparkling and dazzling Lights Switch-On event and it’s definitely not to be missed!
After the success of last year’s event, Farnham Town Council will once again be hosting the event in Gostrey Meadow and this year, we’re pleased to welcome award-winning actress Abi Titmuss and actor Andrew Agnew (best known as PC Plum in the two times BAFTA Award winning children’s favourite Balamory) who are kindly taking time out from their pantomime rehearsals for Sleeping Beauty at The Anvil in Basingstoke to help switch-on the town’s lights.
The activities will begin at 2pm with an arts, crafts and food market, giving you a great opportunity to buy all your Christmas gifts for the whole family.
The Bandstand will be transformed into Santa's Grotto for the day, generously sponsored by the Farnham Herald. Make sure you have written your Wish List, as Father Christmas will be collecting all your letters and handing out pressies for those who have been good this year.
To keep little ones amused, there will be children’s roundabouts and games, a live animal nativity scene and there will be the chance to experience what it is like to sit in the basket of a hot air balloon, which will be on site, courtesy of The Packhouse antiques centre.
At 5.30pm, Abi and Andrew will begin the prestigious countdown before pressing the magic button, when the magnificent lights will glisten into life.
