Ascot to Windsor Walk
(Posted On: Mon 18th Jan 2010 at 14:14)
Walking from Ascot, Surrey to Windsor, Surrey via Windsor Great Park.
This is easy 9 mile walk along Road pavements and well kept footpaths, keeping the mud off your boots. The walk also goes through Windsor Great Park, up to the George III bronze statue and the Long Walk back to Windsor Castle. The walk follows part of the Three Castle Walk.

The best section for me was the short wooded walk that runs alongside Ascot Racecourse, and ends with some large old iron gates with stone statues of a Lion and Horse holding shields. The gates suggested some Royal connection? Maybe these were part of Ascot Racecourse at sometime?

You can see a Google Map of the Walk Route here...

Happy Walking for 2010.
