Plenty of trees and woods to provide shade and bits of walk beside The River Wey made the day seem a lot cooler.
Starting from Godalming BR Station, pass the Church and Phillips Memorial Cloister, cross the river and railway lines, turning off main road onto footpath which follows River Wey untill just before Milton Wood where you veer right toward a housing estate. Somehow I missed this turning and ended up hacking my way through overgrown vegetation, most of the stinging variety but luckily found a way to climb up to the well maintained path i should have been on in the first place.
This path takes you away from the River and skirts a housing estate, however you can't see any of the houses and your soon back into woodland with brief views through the trees. Coming to a grand house with very large garden turn left toward Eashing through green woodland, coming to farm with horses turn right at main road leading you to A3 and plenty of cars'n'noise. Luckly, happens to be footbridge over motorway leading to fields. Car noise quickly drops away and leaves good views South-West. Being a hot day, all the farm animals were seeking out the shade under the solitary tree, but had to disturb them as had to have my lunch.
After very brief woodland you go across more open farmland toward Peper Harrow, with cricket match going at bottom of hill, head toward the Pepper Harrow Church, currently undergoing restoration and under tarpaulin. Walk through the couple of houses making up Peper Harrow and take time to sit on the Peper Harrow Millennium Seat and enjoy views South. Head across field with weird trees and come to small road. Here I should have taken road to public footpath, but road seemed a bit dangerous with plenty of fast cars, so decided to take open gate onto to private farmland. However, i was on a large trackway and didn't disturb any crops and no livestock was in sight. Wide trackway came to house and garden so diverted round crops and found horse track through light woodland back onto public footpath.
From here head through lovely woodland back to retrace steps to Eashings. Continue on to Eashing Bridge and turn onto River path, climbing up to open land where a Hoe Down was being prepared. Take busy road round through two sharp corners then turn off onto long driveway, passing Dog repairs and head back to Godalming BR Station.
