Best Views in Surrey? Guildford to Dorking Walk (Posted On: Wed 28th Jan 2009 at 11:59) A 9-10 mile walk from Guildford BR station to Dorking BR station via North Downs Way
I admit I did this walk last summer - and have only just recently done Leith Hill (on a cloudy day) BUT I thought the views from Martha's Church, Newlands Corner and Steer's Field could be the best in Surrey - but I still have a lot of walks to do, any suggestions? Not from the top of Box Hill, I havent gotten round to that yet. But I can do you a deal on the bottom Newland's Corner is nice too I'm building up shots of surrey so click on these to go to my little Surrey set!

Box Hill: View looking West over Westhumble. Hill is Denbies vineyard / Ranmore Common. Box Hill: View looking South over Dorking. From vantage point just before main viewpoint, in distance maybe Leith Hill? View from the main viewpoint at Box Hill, looking south.

Looks great reminds me of when i was last on top of box hill. I'll have to go again soon when the weather gets a bit warmer. I know this is completely off-topic but are you technically allowed to barbecue on box hill?

I think Box Hill is National Trust, and quoting their site: "Fires and barbecues are generally not allowed. If you are planning a picnic at a National Trust property for the first time, please telephone the property in advance to check."
